Hi. My name is Ramble.
I’m a sheep. Ram, really, since I’m a boy. And, if you want to get technical, I’m a toy sheep. I don’t do that grazing nonsense. The grass stains my fleece.
I was born–purchased, that is–on Martha’s Vineyard somewhere around 1984. If you don’t already know, that’s a small island off of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. (I’m a well-travelled sheep, so I know these things.) I was bought by a girl named Debbie and her Mom, Joan, and they brought me home to New Jersey.
For years, I stood either on the mantlepiece over the fire, or–once they added bookcases for the DVD collection–at the top of one of those, keeping an eye out for threats. You know, like Chappy, the dog.
Then, in 2009, my family had to move. They even considered tossing me away, afraid that the new home wouldn’t have room for me–not that I take up much room. But Deb had a better idea.
To send me on one of the vacations I’d been yearning for all these years. To let me go out into the world and meet friends, see new places, and then, when I was tired of all the travelling, to come back home–where they promise to have room for me.
Well! I’m packing a travel journal so I can record my journeys, insert photos and stickers and anything else I can manage. Bringing a hostess gift, because it’s polite.
I’m ready for some fun.
Who’s with me?

Ramble, I’m soooo excited to meet you. And, if I could fold myself up small enough, I’d crawl into your suitcase and be a chaperone as you continue your adventure!

Oh Ramble I can’t wait for you to come visit Minnesota. I hope the weather will still be warmish while you are here. I will knit you a little scarf just in case. See you soon.
